The bridge was built in 1999 in the City of Folsom as a means to relieve traffic from the nearby Rainbow Bridge. The Lake Natoma Bridge is 2264 ft long with 330 ft long spans over the swollen American River (due to the Natoma Dam). Traffic on this 136 ft wide bridge is over 20,000 vehicles a day.
