Sacramento County, California Bridges: State Route 99 Bridges across the Cosumnes River (1)

September 2013 (38.35806 Degrees, -121.34389 Degrees) Cosumnes River Bridges
The Southern Pacific Railroad crosses State Route 99 just north of the Cosumnes River and so the highway and railway bridges cross the river a few hundred yards apart.
In the photos we can see that the closer (Southbound) SR 99 Bridge (24 0022L) is an old simple span 'T 'girder bridge (built in 1929) while the parallel (Northbound) SR 99 Bridge (24 0022R) is a newer, continuous 'T' girder bridge (built in 1958).
