Sacramento County, California Bridges: Cosumnes River Overflow Bridges

September 2013 (38.35194 Degrees, -121.34000 Degrees) Cosumnes River Overflow Bridges
Western Sacramento County is covered in a network of rivers all emptying into the Mokelumne. In fact, the Cosumnes River has a sister, the Cosumnes River Overflow that runs beside it as they approach the Mokelumne. Thus the State Route 99 Bridges across the Cosumnes River have approach bridges, the State Route 99 (24 0021L/R) Consumnes River Overflow Bridges. They are two long (25 span) slab bridges on cast-in-drilled-hole piles that were built in 1958.
The last bridges across the Cosumnes (River and Overflow) before it becomes a part of the Mokelumne River are some slab bridges tcarrying Twin Cities Road (24C0160 & 24C0185).
