March 2012 (35.685 Degrees, 139.816 Degrees) Onagi Gawa Bridge (小名木川橋) |
Another look at the Onagi Gawa Bridge, a three span steel girder bridge on multicolumn bents just west of the Yokko Jikkengawa. Above the piers are belvederes (decktop pavilions from which a vista can be enjoyed) with decorations and placards describing the woodblock print by Hiroshige that was created at this site). There was also a lot of construction going on along the canal. It looks like they are raising the canal walls perhaps as additional flood protection.
