Michigan's Bridges: Partello Road Overcrossing in Calhoun County

August 2011 (42.282 Degrees, -84.936 Degrees) Partello Road Overcrossing
The next bridge as we continue east on I-94 is the Partello Road Overcrossing. Each of these four span bridges are slightly different. The girders on Partello Road are recessed behind the bridge deck overhang. Also, the pier walls have exterior keys that hide the ends of the girders and the tall bearings.  These elements hide the nicest feature of the bridge: the parabolic shape of the girders. Moreover, the solid barriers block our view of the bridge deck. However, the high skew shows off the Gothic arches in the pier walls.
