I noticed in Craig Philpott's photos from 2009 in the Bridgehunter Website that the concrete portion has a corrugated metal liner, which must have been used for formwork to cast the widening and then removed.

Love the tour of the bridges. Regarding the construction method of the concrete. It seems to me, based on old photos from other bridges that the concrete form would have been 2x6 timber forming the arch over the temporary structure rather then a corrugated metal form...this is my observation.
