Amador County, California Bridges: Five Mile Road Bridge across Mule Creek

February 2013 (38.35833 Degrees, -120.96889 Degrees) Five Mile Road Bridge
The Five Mile Road Bridge (26C0032) crosses Mule Creek on the west side of Ione. It is a closed spandrel arch, only 26 ft long, and it was built in 1925. It looks like they placed sand bags around the foundations to protect them from scour. Like the nearby Old Stockton Road Bridge, it only carries 220 vehicles a day.
