March 2012 (35.771 Degrees, 139.736 Degrees) Kamiya Bridge |
The first bridge across the Sumida River (from its source) is the Kamiya Bridge. It is a tall, three span steel structure that carries Route 318 over the Sumida. Unlike many of the Sumida River Crossings, this bridge has a more utilitarian appearance, without the fancy rails and light posts. It has a drop-in center span and it's supported by pairs of pier walls that look like they may have been retrofitted with concrete jackets.
